Q: What is Virtual Herd?
A: Virtual Herd is a service that allows you to access pictures, video, 3-generation pedigree, EPDs, and footnotes from any Smartphone or tablet (iPad). Virtual Herd is best utilized to help in the promotion and sale of individual animals from anywhere at anytime with all the needed information in one location. There is no longer the need for your buyer to chase down the information from your Web Site, YouTube, Online Sale catalog, and the breed association to make an educated decision.
Q : How does my data (EPDs, Pedigree) get posted to my Virtual Herd?
A: It is a simple process! Email a list of registration numbers to your breed association. The association will send a CSV data file back and you simply upload the CSV file through the Virtual Herd administration tool. The program does the rest. After your data is seeded using the administration tool, you upload pictures, link up videos and add footnotes.
Q: Is Virtual Herd a record keeping software?
A: No, Virtual Herd is simply a tool to allow you and your buyers to access your herd from any Smartphone, tablet (iPad), or computer. It allows you to see pictures (Donors, Stallions, Bores, Bucks, etc), videos, full sets of EPD'S and 3-generation pedigrees from one simple application. You no longer have to piece the information together utilizing a Web site, YouTube and online catalog. It's all at your fingertips.
Q: Who can view my Virtual Herd?
A: Anyone. You can use it for personal use when your livestock are on display, at a show or while you are out in the pasture touring potential buyers through your herd. You also have the option to use your Virtual Herd publicly to help promote your operation as a whole, promote a sale animal, or animals on display or in competition.
Q: Can I access my herd if I have limited cell or Internet service while traveling?
A: Yes, you will be able to starting mid January. Virtual Herd has a unique feature that allows you to download your entire herd, or selected animals, to your mobile device. This allows you to use the Virtual Herd application including pictures, videos, and all the data without any cell or Internet service. Note: You will need an Internet connection to setup and keep your Virtual Herd updated.
